Dj Diablo

Soon after arriving to Chicago back in early 1995, Oswaldo Medina began his journey with his alter ego: DJ Diablo. He finally had a home to showcase his technique on how to manipulate the CD players to play the music he saw fit. His first club experience as a dj was at Marina 300 overlooking the Chicago River. This was a learning experience for Diablo as the crowds differ from the ones that he was accustomed to back in Ciudad Hidalgo in his previous years in Mexico. After tweaking his skills, he along with Volume Entertainment, moved to a bigger location to continue what soon became one of Chicago's most infamous Latin clubs of all time. My Sister's House was a massive club that featured 4 floors of dancing, drinking and mingling. This is the club where Diablo found his niche. His stint at My Sisters House lasted about 1 1/2 years.

The next nightclub to experience the sound of Diablo was an urban locale: Palladium at Tropicana. This enormous hotspot was unique in the way that it meshed first and second generation Latins under the same roof to produce an awe aspiring sea of clubbers dancing to the beat of Diablo. Seven months later, the club formerly known as My Sister's House changed ownership and design and wanted Volume Entertainment and Diablo to return for another run at nightlife history. With a new crowd and a new design this was a more of an upscale atmosphere that Diablo found himself in. The new ears happily lavished in the "new" style of music they were hearing and Diablo soon won them over with his sharp blends of Spanish Rock and Pop. Little did he know that the ultimate club experience was awaiting nearby.

After about 1 1/2 years of keeping the throngs of people happy at Club 720, a new super club was calling his name: Convent. 1997 proved to be the year all the typical nightclubs molds were broken. Convent was a site for sore nightclub eyes. With it's cavernous ceilings and warehouse feel, this club definitely was made for a dj of Diablo's calibre. For 3 years, Diablo kept the dance floor and HUGE crowds absolutely bleed with raw energy never seen at a Latin nightclub prior. The ear bashing sound system and eye bending light show complimented Diablo's mixing style. When the last call was announced for the very last time, Diablo knew this type of experience wouldn't happen again, Another barrier was crossed soon after when a uniquely designed and aptly named Biology Bar opened it's doors. This club was primed and ready to have Diablo as it's Saturday night resident for a long time to come.

To this day Diablo will rock the masses with the music he loves to listen and more than anything, play for an appreciative crowd.
